Practice evaluations
Practice evaluations are performed for a number of reasons:
-Financial Planning.
-Sale or purchase of a practice.
-Legal proceedings.
When having your practice valued, it is important to use an independent
evaluator with a wide range of experience in the business. Properly
valuing a dental practice requires an understanding of both the physical
assets and the goodwill of your practice.
I have been providing clients with fair market values of tangible assets
and/or goodwill values for over 15 years. My background in equipment,
supplies, and new office construction provides me with in depth pricing
knowledge. Over the last 5 years I have averaged 24 evaluations per
year.
Among the clients using my services for evaluations are:
FAIR VALUE
The fair market value of your practice is based on current equipment
and leasehold values and goodwill. Goodwill is calculated on the
strength of your practice based on factual information such as new
patient growth, number of associates, solo practitioner, and of course
your financial statements. I have worked under the mentorship of a
national Chartered Accounting firm to perform these evaluations in
detail and with the accuracy that is required by banks, lawyers, and
financial institutions.
While the value of your evaluation is based on facts, I have on occasion
written comments, separate from the evaluation, indicating
extraordinary situations which may impact what a dentist is willing to
pay for a practice or sell a practice for.
I strongly recommend an independent evaluation. In addition to most
banks requiring one for financing, it will provide you with peace of
mind.
TRANSITIONS
I am not a broker, nor do I hold out dental practices for sale. I do
become aware of practices for sale and will refer you to the appropriate
person for information.
If you would like an opinion on your options for sale or purchase or
comments on an existing evaluation please contact me. Again my
independence will help you make the right decision.
