Monitor your practice with our simple to use Excel
spreadsheet
Almost every time I meet with a dentist
and ask him/her what their production, collections, percentages of
expenses are, I usually get no response or the wrong response. They
are then surprised to find they have significant amounts of money
owing over 90 days, or realize the reason they are often in their
line of credit is because their administration person is not doing
daily deposits.
I understand however that at the end of a busy day the last
thing you want to do is filter through a number of computer
generated reports. I worked closely with a CA to design this Excel
spreadsheet so that all pertinent information can be easily
inputted by your bookkeeper to give you a comprehensive, overview
of your practice. It also will compare month to month statistics as
well as show you where you compare to other offices.
This sheet will take your bookkeeper or administration person
about 15 to 20 minutes to complete each month and will ensure you
are aware of your practice operations. If they are resistant I
might imply they do not want you to see the results.
I understand that many of you started your own practice with no
business experience and simply do not know what to look at.
Unfortunately we cannot rely on one person to always do the job the
way it should be done. Starting with this spreadsheet will help you
understand and if you have any questions we could arrange a phone
consultation to answer any questions.
This spreadsheet will be available online in the summer of 2008.
